The NDIS Commission has made a submission to the Productivity Commission (PC)’s Inquiry into Delivering Quality Care More Efficiently. It’s our response to the PC’s draft recommendations published in their Interim Report.

The purpose of the PC inquiry is to consider how Australia can ensure a more sustainable and productive care and support sector.

The NDIS Commission’s submission supports the PC’s intention to achieve greater regulatory alignment that will improve the quality of services and make delivery more efficient. We see value in focusing on the mechanisms we can put in place to improve the effectiveness of care, and support regulation.

Any regulatory alignment should ensure the rights of people with disability are central and recognise the unique nature of the NDIS market. Reforming regulation of the NDIS is critical for productivity and is a vital first step towards greater regulatory alignment.

The PC’s final report will be published on the PC’s website. Any changes to current regulations or alignment are a decision for the Government. You can read our submission on the NDIS Commission website.
